Comrade Xiaoping was a great Marxist and a great man recognized in the hearts of the people of the whole country, and his story of "three ups and three downs" can still enlighten people ideologically and inspire people to forge ahead.
From the founding of the People's Republic of China to the resignation of all positions inside and outside the party at the Fifth Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee, Deng Xiaoping has worked in many positions in the past 40 years.
In fact, Deng Xiaoping officially came to work in Beijing in July 1952, and before that, he assumed the overall political, economic, military, and cultural leadership of Chongqing and the four provinces and cities of Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, and Xikang.
The local bureau was a comprehensive government management body established in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and if we look at it now, the administrative level of the first secretary of the Southwest Bureau is obviously higher than that of the secretary of the provincial party committee, and at that time the country was only divided into six local bureaus, and its establishment was at least not lower than the vice-national level.
In Beijing, he held the rank of vice president of the State Council (renamed the State Council in 1954), and he served as vice premiers at the same time as Dong Biwu, Chen Yun, Guo Moruo, and Huang Yanpei.
It was not until September 28, 1956, when the first session of the Eighth National Congress was held, that the 52-year-old Deng Xiaoping ushered in his first state-level position, and he was elected as a member of the Politburo Standing Committee and general secretary (at that time, there was a chairman of the Central Committee, and the general secretary was more like the secretary general).
After this meeting, it marked that Deng Xiaoping became an important member of the first generation of leadership with Mao Zedong as the core.
In the following ten years, he assisted Chairman Mao and other vice chairmen in presiding over their daily work, made significant contributions to the development of the socialist cause, and was also active in diplomatic occasions, going to Moscow many times to negotiate with Soviet leaders.
In 1966, Deng Xiaoping lost all leadership positions, and in 1969 he was sent to work at a tractor repair factory in Xinjian County, Jiangxi Province, until March 1973, when he resumed his post as vice premier.
It is worth mentioning that in addition to Deng Xiaoping, there were a total of 15 vice premiers in this State Council.
In January 1975, Deng Xiaoping concurrently served as vice chairman of the Central Committee, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, and chief of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army.
After Premier Zhou fell seriously ill, with the strong support of Chairman Mao, at the age of 70, he began to preside over the daily work of the Central Committee, comprehensively rectifying the chaotic situation, and achieved remarkable results, winning the heartfelt support of the people of the whole country.
But just a year later, in April 1976, Deng Xiaoping was removed from all positions, and did not return until July 1977, and the following month, he was elected vice chairman of the Central Committee, along with Ye Jianying, Li Xiannian, and Wang Dongxing, with Deng Xiaoping ranking second.
In March 1978, Deng Xiaoping was elected chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and served until June 1983.
At the Sixth Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee held in June 1981, Comrade Xiaoping was elected chairman of the Central Military Commission, which may be his most well-known leading position at the national level.
It is worth mentioning that in order to better promote the younger and more knowledgeable cadres, under the vigorous promotion of Deng Xiaoping, the Central Committee set up a Central Advisory Committee, and at the first meeting, Deng Xiaoping was elected director.
So, what is the level of the director of the Central Advisory Committee?
Strictly speaking, it is a temporary institution for a specific period, and there is no level, if you have to explore, the two leaders of the Central Advisory Committee are Deng Xiaoping and Chen Yun, and Bo Yibo is responsible for presiding over the daily work.
In November 1989, at the Fifth Plenary Session of the 13th Central Committee, the 85-year-old Deng Xiaoping resigned from his last leadership position, chairman of the Central Military Commission, and officially retired.
It is worth mentioning that in fact, as early as October 1986, before and after the Sixth Plenary Session of the 12th CPC Central Committee, three comrades, Deng Xiaoping, Chen Yun, and Li Xiannian, jointly agreed to "retire together" and no longer hold any positions.
However, many comrades at that time expressed unacceptability to Comrade Xiaoping's demand for "complete retirement," especially veteran comrades. Later, after repeated discussions and deliberations in the Politburo and soliciting opinions from various parties, it was decided to let Deng Xiaoping "semi-retire," that is, to continue to serve as chairman of the Central Military Commission.
It is not difficult to see here that Comrade Xiaoping's style of doing his best and being upright is consistent.
To sum up, in the 40 long years of work since the founding of the People's Republic of China, Comrade Xiaoping has held a total of six posts at the national level, which are members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau, general secretary, vice chairman of the Central Committee, chairman of the Central Military Commission, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and director of the Central Advisory Committee.
