Selection method of China Journalism Awards

The China Journalism Award is the highest award for outstanding journalism in the country approved by the central government, sponsored by the All-China Journalists Association, and selected once a year.

First, the purpose of the award

The selection of the China Journalism Awards adheres to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly studies and implements Xi Jinping Cultural Thought, adheres to the correct political direction, public opinion orientation, and value orientation, gives play to the exemplary and leading role of excellent news works, promotes the news front to carry out the education and practice of strengthening the "four forces", and strives to improve the communication, guidance, influence, and credibility of news and public opinion, and guides the news front to enhance the "four consciousnesses", strengthen the "four self-confidences", achieve the "two safeguards", and grasp the "great man of the country" We should do a good job in news and public opinion work in the new era, produce more high-quality products and talents, and contribute to the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country.

2. Scope of participation

News units approved by the state and have news gathering and editing qualifications may participate in the evaluation of news works that were originally published and broadcast in the previous year. Newspapers and periodicals with a unified domestic serial number may participate in the evaluation of news business research articles published in the previous year.

The authors of the entries should be professional personnel engaged in news gathering and editing work in news units, including news gathering and editing staff who have relatively stable employment or cooperative relations with news units. Personnel in non-editorial positions in news units and teaching and research personnel in news institutes may participate in the evaluation of news business research projects. Leading cadres at the department and bureau level who are not the main creators of the work will not participate in the evaluation. Leading cadres at or above the deputy ministerial level are not to participate in the evaluation.

The principal responsible persons and direct parties of news units that failed to pass the previous year's social responsibility assessment must not participate in the evaluation. Personnel who have a serious record of negative journalistic professional ethics from the year of publication and broadcast to the time when the work is awarded must not participate in the evaluation.

3. Selection Criteria

Entries should adhere to the Marxist news concept, embody the "four directions and four actions", correct orientation, true content, strong news, and good social effect.

Fourth, the selection of projects

There are a total of 20 items in the selection, and the original works of news units can participate in the evaluation. Basic projects are declared according to the genre of works, and special projects are not limited to the genre of works.

(1) Basic classes

1. News: A piece of journalism that reports on recent facts. It should be concise, accurate, time-sensitive, and complete in news elements.

2. Commentary: Commentary on news events, hot topics, and social phenomena. The point of view should be clear, the logic should be clear, the argument should be accurate, and the argument should be strong.

3. Newsletter: News works that report news figures and events in detail. The theme should be clear, the selection of materials is typical, the structure is reasonable, the expression is vivid, and the appeal is strong.

4. News topics: audio, video and multimedia works that report news figures and events in depth. The theme should be clear, the selection of materials is typical, the structure is reasonable, the report is vivid, and the appeal is strong.

5. News documentary: a video work that reports news events and reflects social life in a documentary way. It should have strong news, ideology, artistry, and documentary value. Speak with facts and be well-structured.

6. Series of reports: A collection of multi-angle and multi-faceted reports on a certain theme, including continuous reports and combined reports, excluding series of reviews. It should be well-structured, comprehensive, and relevant. To participate in the project, there should be no less than 3 single works. Cross-year works shall be declared according to the end of the publication and broadcast year.

7. Photojournalism: Photographic works that report on the news. It should be shot on the spot, the elements are complete, the news is strong, the expressiveness is strong, and the text description is concise.

8. News Comics: Comics and animated works that comment on current events. It should be ideological, pertinent, and full of artistic expression.

9. Supplemental works: essays, features, and reportage published in newspaper supplements. It should be ideological, journalistic, and artistic, and have distinctive characteristics.

10. News interviews: news works that conduct interviews with relevant people on news events and hot topics. The interview section should be no less than two-thirds of the total content or length.

11. Live news: audio and video news works that simultaneously report on news events. The theme should be clear, informative, and on-site. It is required that the audio-visual signals of the news scene be the main body of the live broadcast, and the duration of the audio-visual materials used shall not exceed 1/3 of the duration of the entire work. Under the same conditions, the on-site signal is the advantage of the self-collection of the unit. For intermittent live broadcasts of the same news event, you can select a complete live segment to participate in the evaluation. For cross-year live broadcasts, the premiere time and the main part of the work should be completed in the previous year. Live broadcasts of general conferences, performances, celebrations, business events, etc. are not eligible for the competition.

12. News arrangement: Newspaper news pages and radio and television news columns based on dynamic news. The newspaper news page should be political, newsy, and artistic, with accurate headlines, illustrated and textual, and novel layouts. The arrangement of radio and television columns should have clear editorial ideas, reasonable and smooth arrangement, proper control by the host, and a high level of production.

13. News columns: Columns of news works that are original to news units and have common characteristics. It should be continuously published and broadcast for more than 1 year, and should be published and broadcast for no less than 48 weeks and not less than once a week within the year; the column should have a unified logo, the content should be consistent with the positioning, the form should be novel, the characteristics should be distinct, and the social impact should be greater. The position of the newspaper news column should be relatively fixed, excluding special editions. If there is a major innovation in the column that has won the news column award, the interval of 5 years can be entered.

14. Journalism Business Research: A single article that discusses journalism theory and news reporting practice. The arguments should be correct, the viewpoints should be clear, the arguments should be reliable, the arguments should be sufficient, and the theory should be closely linked with practice.

(2) Specialized categories

15. Major theme reports: News works that report on major annual activities and major themes. It should be political, ideological, and newsy, with a wide audience and great influence.

16. International Communication: News works that have foreign audiences as the main target of communication, and accurately reflect the characteristics of national and regional communication. It should be newsy, targeted, have a good communication effect, and play a prominent role.

17. Typical reports: News works that report on national or regional advanced figures, advanced collectives, advanced deeds, and advanced experiences. It should be contemporary, typical, representative, with a wide audience and great influence.

18. Public opinion supervision and reporting: news works that reveal social problems, safeguard fairness and justice, and promote the progress of the times. The facts should be accurate and sufficient, the reports should be objective and comprehensive, and be constructive, so as to effectively promote the resolution of practical problems.

19. Converged reporting: News works that make full use of information network technology and comprehensively use multimedia means to report. The theme should be clear, the connotation should be rich, the form should be novel, and the communication effect should be better.

20. Application innovation: the application of information network technology, research and development of "news + service" innovative information service products. It should be rich in content, advanced in technology, novel in form, practical and service-oriented, and have good social benefits.

5. Incentives

The total number of prizes to be awarded shall not exceed 380. Among them, there are no more than 75 first prizes, about 115 second prizes, and about 190 third prizes. Special prizes will be set up according to needs, and no more than 5 will be regarded as the first prize. The amount of awards for each selection project shall be determined by the jury according to the current participating works.

The Chinese Journalists Association will issue certificates to the authors, main creators and editors of the award-winning works, and award trophies and bonuses to the special awards and first-prize works. If the award-winning works are declared as collectives, a trophy certificate will be issued to the original unit. The bonuses for the second and third prizes will be issued by the unit.

6. Submission of works

Implement organizational recommendation, self-recommendation and other recommendation. The organization's recommendation is to be recommended by the news unit to the reporting unit entrusted by the China Journalists Association, and self-recommendation and other recommendation are recommended by the person or others to the reporting unit entrusted by the China Journalists Association or the award office of the China Journalists Association.

The entry of the work shall be truthfully declared to the author, editor or main creator. The authors and editors who apply shall be subject to the signature and ranking of the works at the time of publication and broadcast. The main creators of the application may include major contributors such as planning, interviewing, editing, and filming. Where they are not signed at the time of publication and broadcast, or where the number of authors and creators exceeds the provisions, it is to be declared as a "collective".

VII. Selection Procedure

The preliminary evaluation of the works shall be organized by the provincial (autonomous region, municipal) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Journalists' Association, relevant news units, relevant professional associations and other reporting units. The Chinese Journalists Association entrusts relevant units to undertake the special preliminary evaluation of some works, and the final evaluation of the works is organized by the China Journalists Association. The list of winning entries will be announced after approval.

8. Selection Body

The selection body is the Audit Committee and the Selection Committee. The Judging Committee is responsible for reviewing the materials of the entries and making recommendations for the selection, and the Selection Committee is responsible for selecting the winning entries.

The review committee members and selection committee members shall be appointed by the Chinese Journalists Association for a term of one term, and the recusal system and rotation system shall be implemented. During the period when the Audit Committee and the Selection Committee are not convened, the meeting of the director of the jury shall decide on relevant matters on their behalf.

The permanent working body of the Audit Committee and the Selection Committee is the Award Office of the China Journalists Association, which is responsible for accepting the entries, organizing the publicity and accepting reports, and organizing the review and selection of the entries.

9. Penalty provisions

For the illegal entries, the qualifications for participation or awards will be cancelled after verification. The relevant responsible persons and units that submit entries in violation of regulations will be punished according to different circumstances. The review committee members and selection committee members who violate the selection discipline shall be disqualified and notified after verification.

10. Supplementary Provisions

1. Matters not covered herein shall be studied and decided by the meeting of the directors of the China Journalism Award Jury.

2. The Chinese Journalists Association has the right to use the entries in the competition.

3. The Chinese Journalists Association is responsible for the interpretation of these Measures.

4. These Measures shall come into force on the date of promulgation.

Selection method of Changjiang Taofen Award

The Changjiang Taofen Award is the highest award for outstanding journalists in China approved by the central government, sponsored by the All-China Journalists Association, and selected once every two years.

First, the purpose of the award

The selection of the Changjiang Taofen Award adheres to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly studies and implements Xi Jinping Cultural Thought, adheres to the correct political direction, public opinion orientation, and value orientation, and gives full play to the exemplary role of outstanding journalists by commending outstanding journalists in the mainland press circles, and promotes the news front to carry out and strengthen the "four forces" education and practice work, and strives to improve the dissemination, guidance, influence, and credibility of news and public opinion, and guides the news front to enhance the "four consciousnesses" and firmness Four self-confidence", achieve "two maintenance", grasp the "great man of the country", do a good job in news and public opinion work in the new era, produce more high-quality products and more talents, and contribute to the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country.

2. Scope of participation

Full-time journalists such as reporters and commentators, announcers and hosts of news programs, editors, proofreaders and inspectors of news works, and news program producers in news units approved by the state and with news gathering and editing qualifications.

The principal responsible person or direct party of a news media that has been rated as unqualified in the previous year's performance of social responsibility shall not participate in the evaluation of the current Changjiang Taofen Award. Journalists with a negative record of journalistic professionalism and professional ethics in the past five years will not be selected.

Responsible persons at or above the deputy ministerial level of news units will not participate in the evaluation; personnel who have gone through the formalities for retirement before December 31 of the previous year will not participate in the evaluation; and those who have won the Changjiang Taofen Award will not participate in the evaluation.

3. Selection of projects

There are two selection projects: the Yangtze River series and the Taofen series. The Yangtze River Series selects reporters, commentators, announcers and hosts of news programs engaged in news coverage and reporting. The Taofen series selects full-time journalists and news program producers who are engaged in editing, proofreading and checking news works.

4. Participation requirements

1. Must hold a press card issued by the National Press and Publication Administration.

2. The Changjiang series requires more than 5 years of journalism, and the Taofen series requires more than 10 years of journalism.

5. Selection Criteria

In accordance with the requirements of both ability and political integrity, the political ideology, business performance, work style, professional ethics and social influence of the participants will be comprehensively examined.

1. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, earnestly publicize and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Culture, adhere to the Marxist outlook on journalism, adhere to the correct political direction, public opinion orientation, news aspirations, and work orientation, and conscientiously serve the overall interests of the Party and the country's work.

2. Love the journalism of the party and the people, actively implement the party's mass line, adhere to the "three closeness" and "change and change", consciously practice and enhance the requirements of the "four forces", have a solid style, have the courage to innovate, and dedicate themselves to work.

3. Carry forward the spirit of journalistic professionalism, abide by journalistic professional ethics, maintain the good image of journalists, and have a good social response.

4. Outstanding comprehensive business performance. Participants must have won one of the China News Awards and the National Good News Award, or won the first prize of the National News Works Award approved by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee before 2005, or the first prize of the Provincial News Award (except proofreading) for newspapers, radio and television works in minority languages.

5. Under the condition that the conditions of the participants are the same, talents who have made outstanding contributions to new media and media integration are encouraged, and priority will be given to talents who have made outstanding contributions to strengthening the international communication capacity building of the mainland.

(1) Journalists

The interviews are in-depth, with a high level of interview reporting, and the works collected and written have a certain social influence.

(2) Editing

It has a high level of business in organizing and planning, editing manuscripts, making titles, arranging layouts, creating columns, producing programs, etc., and the edited works have a certain social influence.

(3) News commentators

It has a high level of theory and policy, pays attention to investigation and research, writes comments with clear views, strong arguments, links theory with practice, and has a certain social influence.

(4) Proofreading and inspection

Dedicated, conscientious and responsible, with a high level of business, excellent achievements in error prevention and quality control.

(5) News announcer and news program host

It has a high level of policy, rich social knowledge, strong language expression ability and program control ability, and the programs hosted and broadcast have distinctive characteristics and styles.

(6) News program producer

Have excellent overall planning ability, be able to stimulate team spirit, implement scientific management, integrity and self-discipline, dedication and dedication, and outstanding performance.

6. The amount of the award and the method of reward

There are 20 awards, including 10 in the Yangtze River series and 10 in the Taofen series. It can be short, but not exceeded. The Chinese Journalists Association presented trophies, award certificates and bonuses to the winners.
