Don't scare yourself out of the disease! If these "diseases" appear in the physical examination report, it is not advisable to over-treat them

author:Bright Net

Go for a physical check-up

The inspection report metrics are found to be out of the normal range

There are even some "words" that make people feel uneasy

In fact

Some may not be diseases, don't panic yet!

Carotid atherosm: If carotid artery stenosis is not formed, no specific treatment is required

The physical examination report shows "carotid atheroma plaque", and many people are very scared, worried that if they ignore it, it will endanger their health.

High blood pressure, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, smoking, alcoholism, and lack of exercise are all risk factors for carotid plaque formation. In addition, carotid plaque may develop with age, even in the absence of these risk factors.

At this time, it is necessary to try to ensure healthy eating habits and appropriate physical exercise with less oil and salt, and pay attention to lipid-lowering treatment and control of various risk factors for patients with hyperlipidemia.

02

Prostate calcification: no negative effects on the body

In fact, "prostate calcification" is a scar left after recovery that may have suffered from prostatitis before, and there is no negative impact on the body, so there is no need to worry too much about it.

03

Occasional premature cardiac beats and sinus arrhythmias: Don't be overstressed

During the heart exam, if you find any of the following problems, do not over-stress and do not over-treat.

(1) Occasional premature cardiac beats

With the increase of age, many people will have premature heart beats, if the Holter evaluation is episodic and there are no clear symptoms, most of them can be observed.

(2) Sinus arrhythmia

Our normal heart rhythm is called sinus rhythm. The sinus rhythm is relatively regular, but the number of heartbeats, or the heart rate, varies from time to time. "Sinus arrhythmia" is a normal physiological phenomenon, it may be related to your emotions when you have an ECG, such as anger, nervousness, excitement, including after taking certain medications, which will affect the heart rhythm results, and can generally be relieved after calm rest. Sinus arrhythmia is also common in children and adolescents during development, and most of them return to normal with age without special treatment.

04

Slightly over- or low-grade complete blood count and asymptomatic: common

There is a normal reference range for routine tests, and when the blood is tested for more than or less of this item, a "↑ ↓" will appear on the report. The value of exceeding or decreasing is only a little more (less), which is called the critical value in laboratory medicine.

It is common for blood tests to have cut-off values because there are many factors that affect the results of blood tests, such as the time of use of the blood band, the location of blood collection, the method of storage, and the time of delivery, as well as gender, age, ethnicity, altitude of residence, and even seasonal changes can interfere with the parameters.

At the same time, abnormalities in biochemical indicators such as increased fasting blood glucose, high blood lipids, and high uric acid will also have a certain impact on the detection of blood routine, so this is why the indicators are only a little higher or a little lower, and there are no symptoms, the doctor will think that there is no problem.

However, if you do have some uncomfortable symptoms, even if the test result is not far from the normal reference value, it may be a sign of early disease.

05

Occasional elevated aminotransferases: no worries

Aminotransferases are very sensitive indicators, taking certain medications, drinking alcohol, staying up late or exercising vigorously can cause elevated aminotransferases, and can return to normal after stopping the drug or resting.

However, if aminotransferases are persistently elevated, hepatobiliary disease is suspected and further testing is required.

06

These three types of urine routine indicators are abnormal: don't worry

(1) Positive urobilinogen: drinking less water may be abnormal

If the urine is concentrated and the urine is dark yellow, it will be urobilinogen positive. For example, when you drink very little water, the color of the first urination in the morning will be darker. If bilirubin is also positive, blood bilirubin levels should be checked to rule out hepatobiliary and pancreatic disease.

(2) High/low urine specific gravity: Drinking insufficient or too much water may be abnormal

Urine specific gravity reflects how concentrated the urine is. When you sweat a lot and don't drink enough water, you may have a urine specific gravity that is higher than normal, which is a false positive, and conversely, when the urine is diluted after drinking a lot of water, the urine specific gravity may be lower than normal, resulting in a false negative.

(3) Positive urine ketone: starvation may cause abnormalities

Ketones are products of fat catabolism and should be normal in urine and positive in urine in patients with diabetic ketoacidosis. However, if glucose in the urine is not present, the body is thin, there is no meal before the exam, and hunger can also lead to positive ketones in the urine.

07

Calcified nodules in the lungs: generally not treated

Pulmonary nodular calcifications, calcified nodules, old proliferative foci, etc. in CT reports are a kind of scars left after the recovery of the disease, most of which are caused by previous tuberculosis or lung infection, which will not affect lung function and will not become cancerous, and generally do not require any treatment.

08

Physiologic breast hyperplasia: usually resolves spontaneously with the patient's self-regulation

Clinical breast hyperplasia is mostly physiological. Physiological breast hyperplasia is mainly related to endocrine disorders and bad mood, and the breast will experience periodic breast tenderness with the menstrual cycle and does not require treatment.

Only some pathological breast hyperplasia may be malignant (a small percentage of breast hyperplasia is associated with breast cancer, but this is probably less than 5%). )

Develop breast self-examination and pay attention to the following 2 symptoms:

(1) After menstruation, the breast pain does not reduce, and even the pain becomes more and more severe.

(2) The chest can be felt to be a small piece that persists, and it does not disappear after menstruation, and it is getting harder and harder, so you should seek medical attention in time.

09

Most cysts are not compressive or inflamed: no specific treatment is required

A cyst is a benign mass, some of which are single or several, and generally do not have much impact on health, and there is no need to be too nervous to detect them. As long as the cyst does not cause compression to the surrounding organs, organ dysfunction, inflammation and infection, etc., no special treatment is required.

If the cyst of the liver or kidney is too large, it may compress nearby organs and cause uncomfortable symptoms, so it needs to be treated aggressively. Complications such as ruptured cyst and intracystic hemorrhage require surgery.

Many people feel very scared when they are found to have a "liver cyst" through a physical examination. In fact, most liver cysts are congenital, the incidence is low, and it will not affect liver function, as long as the cyst is not more than 5 cm, and does not cause physical discomfort and some clinical symptoms, it does not need to be treated with drugs or surgery. Regular follow-up visits are all that is needed to observe changes in size.

Cervical cysts are mostly benign, most of them are caused by chronic inflammation, and the probability of cancer is very low.

10

Non-inflamed bone spurs: generally not treated

Bone spurs are actually a protective reaction of the body, that is, in the aging process of the body, because of the uneven force, the local bones are stimulated unevenly, which leads to the occurrence of bone spurs. As long as they are not inflamed, bone spurs are actually a protective device for the body and generally do not need to be treated.

Even if you have bone spurs, you still have to work hard to delay the aging of your joints and reduce harmful movements. There is a nine-character principle that is to be active, economical, and not strong. Don't go out of your way to climb mountains and climb buildings, challenge yourself.

However, if the cartilage of the body is destroyed by some external force or cold or local inflammatory stimulation, some bone spurs may be painful. At this time, you must seek medical attention in time and let the doctor deal with it.

11

Thyroid nodules on ultrasound (mostly): benign

Most thyroid nodules are benign and usually have no obvious physical symptoms. If a thyroid nodule is described as solid, microcalcified, very hypoechoic, and indistinct at the edges, it is important to pay attention to it and seek medical attention according to the doctor's advice.

In fact, these "diseases" should not be overtreated

️ Carotid atheroplaque: If carotid artery stenosis is not formed, it can be rechecked regularly without special treatment;

️ Prostate calcification: there is no negative impact on the body, no need to worry about and treat;

️ Arrhythmia and premature beats: Occasional premature cardiac beats and sinus arrhythmias do not need to be overly stressed;

️ The blood routine is slightly exceeded or decreased, and there are no symptoms, which is very common;

️ Physiological breast hyperplasia: it can generally dissolve spontaneously with the patient's self-regulation;

️ Most cysts, without compression or inflammation: no special treatment is required;

️ Occasional elevated aminotransferase indicators: don't worry too much;

️ Three types of abnormal urine routine indicators: don't worry too much;

️ Calcified nodules in the lungs: generally do not require any treatment;

️ Non-inflamed bone spurs: generally do not need to be treated;

️ Thyroid nodules found by ultrasound (most): benign.
